Ever wonder why there are lots of traffic going through your site but never get that many contacts?

5 Possible reasons

It is not nice to see people coming to your site then abandon it. We can all see this through our analytics but what are the real reasons behind it?

There are a host of different reasons from bad design to speed to punctuation and grammar(If you can not spell, nobody will take your site seriously).

  1. Mobile Optimisation

Nowadays, every one on every corner is almost attached if not welded to their smart phones. As much of an annoyance as this is to those around them, they are in fact surfing the web like anyone else.

If your site is designed for a laptop or large screen, this means that the mobile user has to zoom in. WHAT? you mean pinch the screen to be able to view a web page. YES. And that ladies and gentlemen is how lazy we have become. However, it is also looks unprofessional and if you are not seen to cater your business for all segmented users then why should they bother zooming in after all. Tit for tat as they say.

Some sites are heavily dependent on mobile users if you take a taxi company for example. Anyway, get responsive is the message as you could be losing valued customers. Google will also reward you.

  1. Design being outdated

If you have not updated your site in recent times, SHAME ON YOU. We all know a website that is outdated because generally it is not responsive, blocky, banner at the top with lots of text everywhere.

Design has come along way and special people in the design world have given guidelines on how to improve user experience on websites. They also are designed to get conversions. That is the aim of the game. You might have an amazing site but it could be leading people down the wrong path.

Templates are all good and well but are they designed for your business? Careful strategic placement of information and call to actions mean the message is getting across and its easy to take the next step, which is contact.

  1. Your web page is too SLOW

Everybody seems to be in a rush these days. Busy, busy, busy. Patience is a virtue but unfortunately users will not wait around for your sluggish site to load. Users move quickly through pages these days and if their flow is broken they will as quick move on.

Imagery is one of the main reasons that pages load slowly. If they have not been optimised by your web developer already, get a new one. You can test all areas of your site. Areas that slow your site up will need to be addressed. Time is money as they say.

  1. User focused content
What is wrong with my website?

We all like to gloat don’t we. Look at me bla bla bla. Ok, what are web sites for? To sell goods and services primarily. So, the client usually has a problem when they use Google search correct? So, what our websites need to do is solve that by having the correct content placed in the right place that shows how you can solve their problem.

Get your benefits and what you can do for them across straight away or they might lose interest. If you can solve it, they will generally look then to check out reviews, reputation and the about you section. Just show them you can do it first.

  1. Call to actions

So if all the above boxes are ticked, we need to get the user to commit. Call to actions are a great way of doing this. For example:
You could just have an email box here either way. We try to make it easier for them to get in contact with us, that is the idea

If you want to sell online, why not contact iBrutes for assistance.
