Breastfed, Ennis, Co. Clare

In late 2016, Johanna Cusack was referred to us by a BNI Abbey Chapter member as she was looking to bring her online presence to the forefront by getting a website designed for her new business.

We spoke to Johanna about what exactly her needs were, and of course what type of design and feel was going to be appropriate for the site given the sensitive nature of her business. Johanna is a lactation consultant based in Clarecastle, outside Ennis in Co. Clare. She teaches mothers a whole range of techniques for breastfeeding and is always there as support for parents needing guidance in unfamiliar territory.

Johanna was looking to integrate an online booking system so that mothers could book both preparation workshops and consulatation clinics online. The big issue with new mothers is obviously that they have enough on and in their hands so the system required needed to be super simple to use. We found a lot of systems that could work but in the end we decided upon a plugin we researched called “Calendarista”. It was extremely simple yet very powerful and cost less than all the others.

When the project completed, Johanna was delighted with the site, another happy camper and even though it took a few months to build and perfect, going back and forth, we were all happy with the job in the end and it was truly a pleasure to work with Johanna.

Introduction to Breastfed, Ennis (Extract)

Johanna is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, which is a Masters level qualification in breastfeeding. She assists new parents who may be having feeding difficulties, provide ongoing support to them as needed, refer to relevant professionals if indicated, and also teach antenatal breastfeeding skills workshops to help feeding get off to a smooth start.

Having 20 years supporting breastfeeding mums in Clare, North Tipperary and South Galway and have been in private practice since 2015. Her business has grown year on year quite organically, both through the development of her Facebook presence but much through word of mouth.

Currently the only private practice Lactation Consultant in Co. Clare, Johanna offers a unique and personalised service to often stressed out and worried new parents. A lot of her clients tell her that they feel much better having had a chance to discuss everything in a relaxed environment that have a solid plan going forward.
